Regina Tierney received her MFA in painting from Boston University’s School of Fine Arts in 1983 where she had the good fortune of studying with James Weeks.
By 1987 she had become a pioneer in the newly emerging field of 3-D animation and her digital paintings of the Life cycle of HIV were published in ARTFORUM magazine in 1991.
In 1994 she co-founded Outer Circle Inc, one of the first digital ad agencies in New York City. In 1998 Outer Circle became ad agency of record for Boehringer Ingelheim’s respiratory franchise and launched Combivent (for the treatment of COPD). Other corporate clients included Pfizer, Ingersoll Rand, and Bayer.
In 1995 her 3-D animation I Luv My Fumily was featured in the ground-breaking digital exhibition CODE at the Ricco Maresca Gallery in New York City and she was appointed Associate Professor of Communications at the New York Institute of Technology where she headed the graduate program in computer graphics.
In 2003 she became traveling videographer, video editor and photographer for Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton.
Her first book is SPARROW BUSH LANE: A Homecoming and she recently started a new company – rtierneydigital – specializing in author websites and digital books.
